Outreach

Assist M.E. is a 501c(3) non-profit organization that provides durable medical equipment to low-income,  uninsured and underinsured residents in the Charlotte area. They collect donated mobility-related rehabilitation equipment, prepare and redistribute this equipment into the community. “This previously ignored or forgotten equipment kept in garages, basements and attics finds a new purpose in a new life.”  In 2021, Assist M.E. provided 914 pieces of ME to 567 individuals, up from 681 pieces to 397 individuals in 2020.  

Donations can be dropped off at our SouthPark Church front door/outer lobby on Sat, May 14, 2-4PM. Cheryl Brooks & Guy Herring along with Assist M.E. will be there to assist with the donations. Donations can include power and manual wheelchairs, rollators, canes, crutches, walkers, bath aids (tub/shower seat or tub transfer benches), toilet aids (bedside commode or raised seat for toilet), and home-care beds.  Wearable items like walker boots and disposable items like bed pads cannot be accepted. Tax donation receipts will be available at drop-off.
